I was listening to Salmon Rushdie through FORA.tv speak about Machiavelli and the whole theory
"shoot the messenger" rap Machiavelli got after he watched and observed power and wrote about
power.
Machiavelli's home town was Florence, Italy.
Salmon Rushdie was commenting how Machiavelli was not very Machiavellian :)
Machiavelli's "The Prince" political expediency is placed above morality and the use of lies and
sneakiness or craft and deceit to maintain authority and to carry out the rulers policies.
Machiavelli understood the nature of power.
The definition of Machiavellian- characterized by subtle or up-front cunning, deception, expediency,
or dishonesty.
The profound human need of having their story told.
Take the time to listen to the need of a story heard :)
